Savor the Flavor

Savor is a luxury pickle brand redefining the art of pickling with a refined and sophisticated touch. Each jar is a culinary masterpiece crafted from the finest ingredients and artisanal techniques, transforming the humble pickle into a gourmet indulgence. For this project, I developed a cohesive brand identity and elegant packaging for three flavors, designed to resonate with an audience that appreciates exclusivity and high-quality experiences.

Deliverables

Packaging for three distinct pickle flavors

Goal

To create a refined and sophisticated brand identity that positions Savor as the premier luxury pickle brand, standing out in a market dominated by less sophisticated competitors.

Objective

Develop branding and packaging that reflect the exclusivity and artisanal quality of Savor pickles. The designs should communicate indulgence, premium quality, and a modern, minimalist aesthetic to elevate the product and appeal to its target audience.

Target Audience

Affluent young professionals aged 30 and above who enjoy fine dining, luxury experiences, and artisanal food products. This audience seeks unique and high-quality alternatives to everyday products and is drawn to minimalist, elegant design.

The Inspiration

The inspiration for Savor’s brand identity came from the idea of transforming an everyday staple into a luxurious, gourmet experience. I wanted the design to evoke the same sense of indulgence and sophistication as fine dining, with a minimalist aesthetic that highlights the artisanal quality of the product. The sleek lines, refined typography, and elegant color palette were all chosen to reflect the premium nature of Savor and elevate the pickle into something truly extraordinary.

Initial Concepts

In the early stages, I focused on elegant typography to convey sophistication while ensuring the designs felt modern and clean. I also experimented with hand-drawn elements, like illustrated pickles, to add a personal, artisanal touch.

Using both paper sketches and Procreate, I refined these ideas, balancing a sleek, contemporary look with subtle handcrafted details to reflect the premium quality of the brand.

In the digital drafts, I experimented with placing the typography sideways, which added a unique and modern touch to the design. I also embraced a monochromatic color scheme, as it gave the packaging a luxurious and sophisticated feel.

Once I established a solid foundation for the front of the jar, I began developing the side panels to include all the essential details, ensuring the design remained cohesive and functional from every angle.

CHALLENGE:

My biggest challenge was ensuring the label felt cohesive while including all necessary elements. I worked to balance the modern design with legibility and regulatory info, making sure the label looked unified and met all packaging requirements.

Typography & Color Palette

For the logo, I used Brown Sugar for its luxurious stroke weights. Monterchi Serif was chosen for headings to add sophistication, while Hero provided clean, simple body copy that complements both.

 

Each flavor was given a unique monochromatic color palette, reflecting its ingredients and enhancing the premium feel.

The Final Design

Reflection

I made the decision to remove the pattern and focus on minimal illustrations, which helped create a cleaner, more modern design. This change allowed the branding to feel less busy and more refined. I’m really happy with the outcome, as I was able to capture the elegance of the brand through the typography and the monochromatic color palette. The final designs truly reflect the luxury and sophistication that Savor stands for, and I’m proud of how everything came together.
